Family History Research
If you are interested in engaging the Society's research services, we require the request to be made in writing. In your letter, describe the
information that you seek. Additionally, please provide
any background, family group or pedigree information pertinent
to the research requested. We require a check to cover the first hour of research and directions for
total time to be spent on the project. You will be billed at the
completion of the project for any additional expenses and time spent
on the project. The research fee is $25.00 per hour, plus $0.25
per page for copies and/or $0.50 per page for microfilm copies. Research requests are answered in the order they are received. Responses may take 4 to 6 weeks. Fees are based upon time spent searching sources and do not guarantee that information will be found.
Marriage / Death Announcements from the
Norristown Times Herald (1803-1815, 1840-1909)

Requests for marriage or death announcements should include dates as specific as possible. The paper has been indexed for marriages and deaths for the dates identified above.
Montgomery County records:
Births(1893-1915), Deaths(1893-1915) or Marriages(1885-1943)
From Microfilm
- up to 5 names, $10.00 plus $0.50/copy
Births and Deaths were only recorded on a county level for the dates listed above. After 1915, the State of Pennsylvania took over those responsibilities. For marriage records, after 1943, the County Department of Printing and Records (County Archives: 610-278-3441) should be consulted.
Research (Non-genealogical in nature)
These types of requests should be submitted in writing.
Provide appropriate background information and specify
amount of time that should be spent on the project.
Additionally, please include a check for the first half
hour of research. These project fees are based on half
hour increments; $13.00 per half hour, plus any copies. Research requests are answered in the order they are received. Responses may take 4 to 6 weeks. Fees are based upon time spent searching sources and do not guarantee that information will be found.
